About a month ago there was a thread about shoes, from Hotter, posted by Merrie, and I took a note to check their website later on, as I also have a hard time finding shoes that fit me comfortably, so, today I did it , and was not amused when I consulted the fitting tips regarding the width of the foot. For women's shoes they offer standard and EXTRA LARGE, while for men's its standard and GENEROUS(!). So, if you're a woman with larger feet you're an elephant, but a man needs only a little bit roomier shoe! I wish they would give us a more GENEROUS approach.
Am I being too touchy?
Sorry, I needed to let the steam out.

Do you know Amelia, I really hope you send this comment to their website, becasue it is a VERY valid point and has made me wonder what sort of attitude the management have!
Tell them I agree with you too!

goodness I didn't even notice, but then wouldn't have looked at the mens shoes.
I did purchase from them -in their sale - and shoes are reasonably OK - BUT I got some on holiday in Spain for 9 euros 95, and they are so very comfortable !!!! Little black pumps with a bow, look really good - are we being ripped off in UK, yet again, I do wonder.
Especially when I saw the identical bracelet in a market for, can't quite remember, either 1 or 2 euros - I hadbought the identical one in a posh shop near me, 1/2 price for £6 !
And don't even get me started on the oranges and lemons - in fact I am so incensed at the prices we pay I think I will start a new thread !

I got a brochure in something the other week and had a look at the shoes in one of their shops in Southport. Thought they were a tad expensive really, but the shop is on Lord Street..not cheap, and it was one of those shops where you go in and they serve you, which is awkward for me with my nine toes!!!!
Stick to Clarks I think.

Thank you all.
Well remarked, Gerry.
Bramble, I'm going to do as you suggest, tell them a piece of my mind.
I didn't get any yet. I have to consider the cost of the actual shoes, plus the post and package to Portugal. Everything seems so much more expensive in England Chutney Queen, I've been to London for the past two summers and was appalled to see how fast the pounds vanished from our pockets. Who knows, it might be cheaper to take a day-trip to Spain and shop there. Will try to find if any shops here carry those, and ironically, maybe I'll find out that some models are made in Portugal, we do have lots of shoe factories up north, but for some reason the biggest size they produce for local shops is 39/40 (5/6), and I'm now a 41 (7). It seems all the bigger sizes are exported.
I know what you mean, Jennifer, I also much prefer those shops were you pick up the boxes and try all you want by yourself. Sometimes I'm a bit self-conscious, because though my feet are very clean (lol), I'm not one to be bothered to go for a pedicure.
