I notice (and smell) the BBQ season is here again, but after last year I now hate BBQ-ing!

I am always the person who has to stand sweating in the sunshine over a smoking horrible greasy fire AND clean the thing afterwards! The weber grill I brought all the way home from America is huge, takes tons of charcoal and is terrible to clean - the gas version we had wasn't that much better either!

I love al fresco eating and picnics, so this year it's cooking inside, and eating outside! Far more civilised!

Anyone with me?

erm - off to buy a BBQ at the weekend.....!

All good from my point of view as hubby and his friends do the barbequeing and all i and the girls have to do is make the accompaniments and drink wine in the sunshine!

hubby hates bbqing -the air turns blue whenever he has to do it. So we dont have them very often!

We bought a large gas one 2 years ago and I hate it. It`s gas, so unless you put copious amounts of smoky wood chippings on first, you might as well cook indoors.

We`re back to the pot bellied charcoal burner!

I think it should be illegal to BBQ unless your nearest neighbours are at least 200 yards away

OH does the barbecues in our house - and he cleans it all up afterwards. All I have to do is the cooking of the other food, and wash the tongs, etc. So I'm all for them!

Im afraid we have never had BBQs. The smell of someone's BBQ is dreadul, and agree with jenihope that should be miles from neighbours. Our neighbours have them on their patio right next door to ours. I have to go in and shut all the windows the smell is so awful ! I think they are very antisocial ..... Sorry !

My OH loves it, and I love the smell. we use charcoal, but I do as much as poss indoors under the grill cos I love to let him play but I love to stay alive too!

OH refuses to BBQ and iwas doing all the bits and pieces plus cooking so i got a George Forman grill put it on an extension lead and cook out side with no hassle.

Oh the BBQ season upon us again...Oh dear...
Our next door neighbours love doing their steaks and sausages on the BBQ, and the smell drives us mad. First you get the lighter fuel, then the meat smell..horrible..mind you we are vegies.
Turning into a grumpy old woman now...
