Following Joy's post the other deay and her delight at her fish hamper i was hoping to find an appropriate hamper to send my next door neighbour for her birthday on friday. we are very close to our neighbours and she looks after my cat whilst i go away very frequently! i'd need something that can e delivered either this week or the next business day. I'd go for the fish hamper but unsure if she'd eat that much fish. am thinking about cakes or preserves / savory goods. she's approx 60 and likes turkish delight if that helps.

can anyone suggest anything?

Samcat, that hamper from my son was for four people, they have them for two as well.

This company does some nice foodie hampers, depending on what your budget is. of course.

If she likes cheese then please do look at this website, run by a friend of mine from Somerset she sources cheeses from small producers in the South West, they are lovely unusual cheeses. Please do have a look, she does a great 'taster' which allows the person to to give a review on the cheese they try. : )

I endorse the Cheese Gig recommendation, I gave my sister a 6 months subscription for her bithday. Not sure about the delivery date though, you can always phone and ask.

samcat - hotel chocolat ARE great aren't they??
My sister sent me a box of the champagne truffles for my birthday a few years ago - they were orgasmic!!! (am I allowed to say that on here?). My daughter and I hid them from the men in the house - as we felt that they wouldn't appreciate them!!
Since then - they have been a fave stand-by for birthdays and Christmas!

it's a no-go on the cheese or fish hampers. apparently she's not a great lover of either. !
