One in the Sunday times this morning - roll the peeled banana in pistachio nuts, cover in honey and bake in the oven. I would slice it personally. Too sweet for you?

1 large or 2 small bananas
a few dobs of butter
25 ml demerara sugar
the juice of 1 lemon
Peel and chop bananas into 1 cm slices
put chopped bananas into a baking dish, pour lemon juice over, sprinkle with sugar add the butter.

Put a whole banana on square of tin foil and cut the banana lengthwise but not completely through. Press in a few squares of plain 70 percent chocolate. Pour over either brandy, orange juice or apple juice according to your preference. Fold up to make a watertight parcel and either put under the grill, bbq, or in the oven just long enough to melt the chocolate and warm the banana.
Without alcohol it is a favourite with my grandsons when we have a bbq.

When doing curry I sometimes did sliced and deep-fried bananas sprinkled with paprika as a side dish.

I used to cook them in frying pan. Melt know brown sugar and butter (unsalted if poss.) Peel banana/s and turn them over in sugar & butter until soft and sticky and brown and yummy. Serve them v.hot with icecream or whipped cream. A doddle

I have a great recipe in my profile: Bananas and Chocolate in Filo Pastry with Orange Coulis. It is easy and yummy!!!!! My only problem is getting Filo Pastry where I live now!
