Hi,
I am going to make Just Jaki's Malteser Muffins but the recipe is in cups and I am absolutely useless when it comes to cups!
Can anyone convert the following for me please:
1 cup smashed Maltesers
3/4 cup Buttermilk
Many thanks
Amanda
Hi Amanda, haven't seen you around for a while... DQ posted my photo with the braces, have a look... but don't laugh! By the way, the recipe sounds great but cups is not my thing either. I use this site: http://www.gourmetsleuth.com/cookingconversions.asp?Action=find but I didn't find any Maltesers, sorry! Still, just fill a cup, who cares itf it is a bit too much or too little as long as it looks right.......
We had this question a short time ago.
1 Cup = 8 fluid ounces = 240ml.
HTH.
Thanks John.
I'll take a look at your photo - mine also shows my brace.
Amanda
I saw yours, Amanda, that is why I decided to post mine. John, the weight of whatever you measure in cups alsways depends on what it is. With fluids it is correct but with solids you need to see the weight and that is different for all kinds of products.
Where is the recipe for the Malteser Muffins?
I have googled and found several recipe but want to make sure i get a reputable recipe for these.
they sound delicious, i bet they got that nice crunch to them.
Yummy!

Sorry found them now ;)
cups are volume not weight, so you can use a measuring jug instead of a cup measure.
I know Expat, but if you want to measure accurately you will have to translate it to weight. The problem with cups is that there is a special way to measure and if you don't do that you will always end up with too much or too little ingredients. I find that they work really well for liquids, other than that they don't work for me! I much prefer to work with precise weights. Anyway, there are sites like the one I mentioned where you can find out the weight for most ingredients.
