My children have just asked to make fairy cakes. I have found recipies but ... we don't have any scales to measure everything out! Any ideas of amounts using cup measurements for example?? All advice is appreciated .... thank-you!

OK I've just been and weighed it for you - go to Delia's Orange Butterfly Cakes in the search box. You don't have to make them orangey, and can use buttercream to fill them.
6oz SR flour is four heaped tablespoons, as heaped as you can get them. 4oz sugar is four tablespoons just nicely heaped, with a little shake. 4oz butter is half a block, but you knew that. You can do it from there :-)))

When I was little we always did it like that Bramble! - my mum didn't have any scales until I bought her some when I started my Saturday job when i was 14!
