From A Sad Sam
Sorry i am confused what you talking about Sam.
Am i missing something?
Mat
im not sure either?????
A while ago I posted a query about types of sunflowers, and I think it was biggs or Bramble who thought it might be fun to plant some and see who grew the tallest at the end of the season.
Sam, if it`s any consolation, mine are only up about 3 inches so you`ve plenty of time yet. I`ve just planted 6 and they are dug in with the runner beans, the clematis and 2 tubs of flowers, so dear knows what will happen to them.
Anyone can join in the fun, just get planting, there`s no real time limit on it, just measure your biggest at the end of the season, and we`ll look forward to seeing the winning piccie on picasa. Go get yerselves some seeds,
crumbs :-)
Heh, heh. I'm going to be a late starter, Sam. I was off to a great start, but my seed succumbed to 'whatever'!!! Tatties are looking good at the moment, but I won't be holding my breath...... heard some rumours about the Colorado beetle being in the area. As we are trying to be organic and I'm not going to be the one picking off the beetles, we will have to wait and see...... Biggs
Hope to plant some more sunflower seeds at the weekend. Biggs
Sorry Sam, not like you to miss anything on the gardening threads! Mine are only a couple of inches high, you've loads of time to get some seed. The cold weather has kept them from getting on, so anybody with a greenhouse will get a flying start :-)))
we used to do this when the girls were at school so I would love to join in I will plant some seed this weekend and see what happens : )
But surely it's not size that counts???
LoL Krish, we'll make it a beauty contest then, and you can be the judge :-)))
