Not sure how true it is Nanny, but I asked the same question a couple of years ago from a gardener friend and he said that they never come true from this type of seed. So I just buy another packet each year, on the packet I bought this week it says they should have been planted from Jan to March and thinned out in May, (bit late du to baby commitments ! ) germination takes 14 to 21 days and then should be able to be harvested in July.
Hope this helps
Yummy
depends on the growing position.
Yum,my is right you should expect to see results in 14-21 days, if you plant your seed and cover it with just a scant amount of new dirt on top, quarter of inch, no more, nice and warm and bright conditions, ideally with a lid for the first 2 weeks or so, and careful gentle watering. my peppers are about 2 inches high, I shall plant into pots about 3 inches in diameter, then when the plant get to about 6-8 inches high, i shall plant in its last pot for the summer. Which you will be able to harvest from, well depends on the weather and growing position again, but I can harvest green peppers end of july august, and red peppers, the green ones turn red, end august september.
