Re: Buying plants online

After seeing the most beautiful peony on Gardener`s World, called Laura Dessert, I have tried to buy it from Claire Austen`s Hardy Plants, only to discover that the carriage on the eight pounds 50p plant is ten pounds to Ireland. Horrendous. Does anyone know of any reasonable plant vendors?
Did anyone else fall in love with it`s creamy fluffy beauty?

Look at Meadowview Nursery online Crums. They posted four Iris corms to France for me for a fiver and were very helpful. They didn;t have the corms I wanted listed but they did have them in stock. Good luck Viv xx

Hi Crumbs,
I've used these guys, (they're great) and I'm sure peonies are his bag, but I'm local, so I've never used mail order.

The other guys who have never failed me with all sorts of gardening queries are:

They live in Co. Down and if you enquire addres it to Desmond.
He'll see you right.
Good luck,

Luvverly, Oinker. I`m going to have a look at these too. I live in Co. Down, so that should help. Maybe I could just collect them.

OH says no more plants, he just thinks we`re too cluttered, but there`s always something I can`t resist each year.....
Thanks, will let you all know how i get on.

Viv, the peonies aren`t available till autumn from Meadowview, but I`ve bookmarked them.
Oinker, Binny deliver at a reasonable price from their Scottish base, but as soon as a little patch of water separates you, the charges rocket up.

dgsgardening is more of a designer service. Thanks anyhow. We are going to the nursery later in the week and you never know......

You can always ask your local nursery to order one for you. There is also a yellow book called the plant finder.
