You can't please all the people,
In fact you can't please some at all,
Some folk hope with enough ridicule ,
From grace you soon will fall.

"How to cheat " is thought provoking,
It's a guide to help us cheat ,
I've got the book , I won it ,
The contents just can't be beat.

All recipes can be adapted,
Not one is set in stone,
Add some ingredients , or leave some out ,
Each page is ours to hone.

Negative press has been dished out ,
Of late , well , most every day ,
Sadly if you are famous here in England ,
It's a price some have to pay.

I LOVE the book , & that's the truth,
In fact most people do ,
The negative comments that we see,
Are the opinions of just a few.

I hope that soon you will start work ,
On yet another book,
It's thanks to you "Our Delia" ,
That many folk have learned to cook.

I have joined this forum specifically to say how much I love the book and how much the bad press is annoying me. I have to say when I first heard about it I was rather surprised as it did not seem particularly "Delia" and at the time I was not aware of her 70's book of a similar title. I love all the recipes, have purchased the Seasoned Pioneers 10 pack of spices from their website and searched high and low for various ingredients. The only one I cannot find anywhere is Heinz Tomato Frito so I substitute with passata. Have done at least 25% of the recipes in the book altho I have only had it a few weeks. Family love the fact I am cooking new things, my husband an daughter particularly like the Bonfire Steaks
