Tried this as it appealed to me. Overall makes a strong tasting dish, which appeals to me as I like gutsy flavours. However, the topping - to my mind - completely killed the taste of the fish. I think it's a case of think tasty dish but don't think seabass!

Looked at this one Broomstick and thought something like cod would be better suited. I think that sea bass has a 'delicate' flavour but it does need 'something' to beef it up. However, sometimes 'beefing up' and 'gutsy' are miles from each other. Thanks for the feedback on this one - do you think it would go with monkfish or halibut?

I think your idea of cod would be best, Liz. Monkfish and halibut are expensive, and I think a pity to put this strong tasting pesto/capers/olives on top of it, when some of Delia's other recipes enhance it and allow the flavour of the fish to come through. But if you do try it, with whatever, would be glad to hear. xxB

Hi
I tried this with frozen haddock fillets. I dont think it matters what fish you use - its more that there is too much strong topping. We both agreed that this one isn't for us.

I tried this with sea bass and agree. The pesto totally overpowers the sea bass -it needs a ''thicker'' piece of fish to go on top off. Have some cod in the freezer so will be trying that next
