Thanks for this website link Liz, It looks really good. I always have problems following cup measurements in recipes..............no excuses now !! lol ;0)

You're very welcome Yummy. I used to live in Canada so have both a pyrex jug for liquid/solid measurements and a set of measuring cups (which are, so far as I can see the same as the British ones) but it isn't always easy when someone says 'can you convert' without weighing. I guess this site is equivalent to a Delia cheat!

I see this thread started a week ago, but have just looked at the website, and thanks for that, Liz. I'm doubtless being a bear of little brain, but what does it mean when there's a plus sign in front of the weight? (The answer will probably be so obvious I shall just think thank God they can't see me....) xxxBroomstick
