Wine for the Full of Flavour menu
This menu features foods with plenty of punch: Spanish gazpacho, Caribbean pork and peaches in Marsala. Here are our wine choices...
Spices, acidic pineapple, gazpacho with tomatoes…these assertive flavours need a wine that can stand up to them! Anything that is too light will simply fade in the company of such punchy foods.
Try a New World Chardonnay or Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc with the soup and Caribbean-style main course. Or, if you want to drink red, Grenache or Zinfandel would be good would be good with the gazpacho; something richer, such as a Merlot, Shiraz or Burgundy, with the main course.
And, to go with the fruity, yet creamy dessert, we would recommend a rich Sauternes, Riesling or Muscat.
