Wine ideas for the Rich Pickings menu
Terrine of Three Cheeses
Coq au Vin
Chocolate-crunch Torte with Pistachios and Sour Cherries
Terrine with three cheeses is a creamy starter, yet the cheeses provide acidity: Sauvignon Blanc or Sancerre would work well. Coq au Vin is one of the richest, most powerful main course dishes, so you need a wine that will stand up to these flavours: use the same wine as in the casserole, by all means. Or you could serve a rich French Merlot or Grenache/Syrah blend from the South of France. The chocolate dessert is gorgeously decadent: drink a glass of Muscat with this for a taste of heaven!
