A buzz in the air at Norwich City Football Club for the return of one of our legends!
In our first of a series of blogs from Canary Catering, we learn about the forthcoming return of a Carrow Road legend...get your tickets now before they all sell out.
This last month at Delia’s Canary Catering has been full of excitement with preparation for an exclusive event; Dion Dublin – Back for One Night Only!
We were delighted when Dion (left) agreed to hold another evening with us at Norwich City Football Club on Wednesday 25 November. The last event we held with Dion in 2008 was a sell-out, so we knew how popular this would be with our customers and we were right - with a high percentage of the previous attendees booking within one week!
We only had confirmation of the event in the middle of October which has not given us a great deal of time to organise the details and let people know, however we couldn’t miss this opportunity with one of our most popular Celebrity Evenings ever. The evening will work along the same format as most of our Celebrity Evenings with a three-course meal and Q&A with the star attraction, hosted by the lovely Kevin Piper!
With the exception of Dion, one of the most important aspects to this evening will be the food. Delia’s Chefs were soon on the case, deciding on what will be the perfect menu for this special evening. Executive Head Chef Chris Pope wanted to provide the evening with a delicious, hearty meal to accompany a cold November evening. The previous Dion event menu included Delia’s Chickpea, Chilli and Coriander Soup (right) to start, Braised Steak Bourguignon for the main course, followed by Sticky Toffee Pudding with Pecan Toffee Sauce. Delia’s Chefs were mindful that many of the people attending this year’s event would be returning customers so they wanted to offer something different but equally as delicious. We always like to have the Celebrity’s contribution on the menu choice, so with Dion's input on Delia’s recipes it was finally decided that we would serve Caramelised Onion Tartlet with Goats' Cheese and Thyme to start, the sumptuous Coq au Vin for the main course and Delia’s famous Bread and Butter Pudding with Coffee and Something Sweet to end the meal before the Q&A. This menu has been received very well by our customers - and the staff attending the event!
Now the Chef’s have worked their magic on the menu, it is up to us to make sure that people know about the event – as we don’t want anyone to miss out. So, it has been all steam ahead on promoting Dion’s return to Carrow Road! We thought one of the best ways to do this was to get ourselves involved with the social networking phenomenon that is Facebook – which has also meant that we can reward our ‘fans’ of Delia’s Canary Catering with special offers for Delia’s restaurants and special events!
Only three weeks until the big day and we are still busy working on promotion, organising the one-off raffle prize, negotiating special rates for our on-site hotel and finalising details with Dion to make sure this event is even better than last year!
