Summer is here (honestly!)

Whatever the weather is outside, you can have a taste of summer in your kitchen as Delia’s Summer Collection is re-issued with a new jacket. Still retaining the well-known sunflower on the cover, the Summer Collection is exactly the same inside as it was when it hit the bookshops in 1993 and has, since then, sold over 1.5 million copies.

It’s almost 20 years since Delia introduced us to a selection of ingredients that were relatively new to the UK, crème fraîche, fresh lemon grass, mascarpone, halloumi and pecorino to name but a few. Nowadays they are so widely available in supermarkets, it’s hard to believe they were at one time difficult to find.

Revisit some of the great classics, Chicken Basque, Terrine of Summer Fruits, Fried Halloumi with Lime and Caper Vinaigrette, and Piedmont Roast Peppers; even if you have to eat them indoors, you will still bring a glimmer of summer to the table.
