Has anyone got the recipe to an open apple cake bake that Delia made nearly 30 years ago on Swap Shop?! It was a family favourite for many years but I've lost the recipe.
Haven't got that one, but I've recently tried dorset apple cake which was delicious, and simple to make. I served it with clotted cream. use the link below to find the recipe. It is an award winning receipe by Greg Coomer.

Thank you sunbird, I will definitely try this apple cake recipe. Very appropriate as I do live in Dorset!
Is it the one that uses stale bread and windfall apples? if so here it is from my 1978 Swap Shop Annual!!!
12 thin slices of bread (crusts removed)
4oz butter
1 small orange
3oz demerera sugar
3 med cooking apples (peeled and thinly sliced)
1 1/2 pt baking dish (well buttered)
Melt butter and brush each slice of bread on both sides Line the baking dish completely.
Put a layer of sliced apple into dish followed by sprinkle of sugar, orange rind and zest. Continue but save 1 tabsp demerera. Coat the rest of the bread slices with butter and fit these over the top to form a lid.
Sprinkle remaining sugar over top along with any butter that is left and bake at 180 C for about 45 mins. Serve with thick cream or custard.
