Francisca,
Usually when we eat outside we have so many bits and pieces like salad, dressings, bread, butter etc etc ....so would really like a wipeable cloth just to cover table for when the 3 of us use it......
Jennifer,
Thanks for that.....did look and not wipeable....maybe might just buy some pvc and get my dressmaker to put a hole in middle...just got to find the right colour pvc now...
thanks for replies...

Last year I was looking for a wipe clean one. My parents once brought back from the US a round one which was elasticated round the edges so did not blow off - a bit like a large shower cap! Nowhere here seems to sell anything similar. .
go to your local fabric shop, they will sell a sort of plastic with a woven ish backing...that you can cur to size...but you will have to make your own hole...what i do is lay the cloth over my table and stabv with scissors to get the right sized hole in the right place - even ness - then i stitch around the hole to make it more durable...I replace my plastic table cloth every 2- 3 years, depends if i remember to bring it in or not and it fads or frays, you can normally get a good sized piece for around 15 gbp... I have quite a large table, which seats 8 that isn;t extendable, as a guideline.
Karen,
That sounds even better being elasticated...but where do we find them?? did phone lakeland and they don't sell wipeable ones but lady did say she would forward the request....
will keep looking....
you can get weights to clip on to the bottom of table cloths for outdoors.. if you have a sainsbugs or somerfield or tchibo store....they do them...tchibo are on line in uk too!
Thanks for reply Sam, much appreciated....
camping shops are good for wipeable table cloths
Dolly, have you been to Dunelm mill, near Asda, we bought some pvc from there for our garden table, lots of choice.
John Lewis sell oilcloth.
Lakeland have a plastic 'hole' to put into the middle of the cloth to keep it looking nice.
I bought a double sheet from a charity shop which is my outside tablecloth. It's dark brown so does not reflect the light, and washes like a dream, dries overnight (or even quicker in the sun) and does not need ironing! It has lasted over 10 years.
I have the plastic holes from Lakeland and they do neaten up the hole in the middle. You really don't need to get your dressmaker to do it... just put it on the table, making sure it's in the right place and then just cut round the hole and fix the plastic cover over the hole. Buying the PVC is so much cheaper than anything you can buy and you get much more choice. John Lewis have loads or you might have a market close by that will sell it. I've always found some lovely ones in France too.
Honey :-x
Thanks everyone for all above ideas....much appreciated....will let you know what I decide when I get around to it....
