I had the most fantastic tasting meal which was spaghetti with king prawn, chilli and tomatoe. Does anyone have a recipe that they think comes anywhere near this?
I know this sounds a simple dish but it was not swimming in sauce.
Sounds like a variation on one from Nigella Express book. Terribly easy, one of those sauces that cooks in less than the time the pasta takes to boil.
You fry some spring onions and chilli flakes, then add tomatoes (she uses jar sunblush, I use chopped fresh) and prawns. When warm, add some white wine, then once bubbled add chopped rocket (I normally use the watercress, spinach, rocket stuff as it's what I have in fridge usually). Wilt, then mix with cooked spaghetti.
Hope that helps.

my daughter does a dish that sound like this one
4 large king prawns
1 green pepper
1 dried red chilli
4 med tomatoes
2 garlic cloves
1/2 tsp caraway seeds
1/2 tsp sugar
olive oil
salt / black pepper
slice the garlic thinly, chop green peppers.
cover the bottom of a small saucepan with olive oil, and fry the garlic for 2 mins, add the green pepper fry for 15 mins, stir from time to time.
Deseed and chop the tomatoes, crumble the red chilli, take shells off the prawns and the heads and de-vein them, add chilli and caraway seeds to green pepper mix, stir for a minute then add the toms, simmer for 10-15 mins. Add the sugar, salt / pepper, finally add the prawns
stir and cook for 3-4 mins, add cooked spaghetti
and serve.

jamie oliver does a prawn/tomato/rocket/chilli recipe in his italian book that's much the same. Lovely, especially in summer on the patio with cold glass of vino
Thank you all so much.
I will look out for both the Nigella and Jamie books.
