am doing Nigella's chicken in buttermilk and have realised i've no maple syrup its too hot to go the shop so could i use honey or golden syrup with a squeeze of lemon/lime ?

I would say that liquid honey is more like the consistency of maple syrup. I dont know the recipe that you are talking about but honey and lime sounds really good to me as I do have a recipe for chicken that we love and iit uses honey. Does it call for a huige amount. It'd be more the maple flavour she's using it for I reckon...rg

I would try one of both this time and you can always make it again with the maple syrup next time. Who knows... maybe you even prefer it this way.....

Thanks have used honey and a splash of lime so will let it all soak in and eat it tomorrow and let you know how it turned out
