i think these are available from other supermarkets but i know sainsbugs defo sell these (as that is where I go them from).

they are marketed as Paul Rankin's...irish pork sausages, pack of 6 and they are a bit expensive just over 2 GBP...but they are soooooooo delicious, best we have tried for many years.

and sausage hunting is a hobby of mine as my OH loves a good sausage, and these are as near to the old fashioned sort as i can find at the moment.

they are fairly skinny but very long, and the fat to meat content is brilliant, they haven;t got big lumps of gristle in, or overly stuffed with oats and no herbs, low in salt and if you gently fry over a low heat you need no fat, not that much comes out anyway....after 20 mins you have the most succulent bangers around, ......well in our opinion. I made them in the week with onion gravy mashed spuds and french beans.

I want try them in a toady next

When I read your title, Sam, I immediately thought of Paul Rankin. We eat them regularly. He now sells about 4 kinds in our local Asda, and they are fab. Great with port and apple in a casserole. Yum.

The only sausages I'll ever buy now are from Puddledub pork and bacon in Fife. Nick Nairn also recommends them so they can't be bad!
