Loganberries

 Loganberries
The judgements of Judge JH Logan of California have been lost in the mists of time, but his berry – a cross between a dewberry and a raspberry – lives on. Since its arrival in this country more than 100 years ago, the loganberry has grown in popularity. Longer and darker than a raspberry, it has a slightly sharper flavour (and actually makes rather good jam for that reason). Weather permitting, they are now available from mid-May to the end of July. Store and freeze them in the same way you would raspberries.
