June
Asparagus is still around, as are fresh herbs, salad leaves, the first of the strawberries, mackerel, salmon, crab and lamb. It's a time of summer feasting..
June is a truly wonderful month for those who love home-grown produce. Highlights include asparagus, new potatoes, crab, sea bass, salad leaves, herbs, elderflowers, courgettes and early soft fruit such as cherries and gooseberries. Make sure you enjoy their fleeting season...imported fruit just doesn't have that same depth of flavour.
