MethodBegin by cutting the cake into 8 x 11/2 inch (4 cm) square blocks. Then, on a surface lightly dusted with icing sugar, roll out the white icing to the thickness of a £1 coin. Cut out 8 x 11/2 inch (4 cm) squares of icing, lightly brush the top of the cakes with cool, boiled water and top with the icing squares. Now cut out 8 x 11/2 inch (4 cm) white icing stars. Next, roll out the blue icing to the same thickness and cut out 8 x 11/2 inch (4 cm) stars. Lightly brush one side of the stars with water then press a blue star on top of each cake, followed by a white star on top of that. Finally, press a silver ball into the middle. |
