Carrot and Ginger soup

,1 medium onion chopped...,5 large carrots peeled and cut into chunks...,Knob of ginger (about an inch)...,11/2 pints vegetable stock...,Teaspoon dried basil...,Salt and pepper...,,,,


Bung it all into a saucepan, bring to the boil, simmer for about twenty minutes and whiz with a blender.
