cheesy mince

delicious easy recipe, suitable for all occasions and weather



4-681g extra lean minced beef
2 level tsp mixed herbs
227g very low fat cottage cheese
1 large onion, chopped
113ml beef stock made with bovril
2 eggs, separated


Pre-heat the oven to 190oc, 375of, gas 5. Dry fry the mince and drain off the excess fat. Add the onion, stock, seasoning and 1 tspn of the mixed herbs and simmer gently for 20-30 mins. Place in an ovenproof casserole dish. Mix the cottage cheese with the egg yolks and add the remaining mixed herbs and more seasoning. Whish the egg whites until stiff and carefully fold in the cheese mixture. Spread over the mince mixture and place in the oven for about 15-20 mims until the cheese mixture begins to brown and enjoy with steamed veg
