Beef in beer- slow cooked

Very easy and tastes great. Beef, beer, onion and mushrooms. Goes well with mash and could be made as a pie filling.
Ingredients
Braising steak
Large onion chopped
Mushrooms sliced
Can of beer or bitter, or guinness
Table spoon of Marmite or yeast extract
Beef stock cubes x 3
Cornflower 1 table spoon
Salt and pepper
Method
Fry beef until brown, add onions and mushrooms.Cook for a few mins then add the beer and half a pint of water, 3 beef stock cubes and a large table spoon of marmite. Add salt and pepper.Cook slow in oven very low heat for 5 hours. Thicken with cornflower. Season to taste.
