Ingredients
2lb stewing steak cut into 1 inch cubes, 1 oz seasoned flour, half a pint of beer ( dark), 12 shallots peeled, 2 cloves garlic crushed, 1 tsp. vinegar, half a tsp. ground mace, 1 tsp dark brown sugar, 1 tsp. worcestershire sauce, A few sprigs of thyme, 1 bay leaf, salt and freshly ground pepper
Method
Toss the beef in the seasoned flour and put into slo-cooker, add all the ingredients, stir well, cook for either:8-10 hours on low or 4 hour on high.
Approximately 30 mins before serving taste and adjust the seasoning.
