Beef & orange Casserole ( In a slo-cooker )

Try serving with green veg and mounds of creamy mashed potato
Ingredients
2 tbsp oil,1 lb lean stewing steak cut into cubes,2 onions chopped,1 carrot diced,1 tbsp plain flour,half a pint beef stock,6 oz button mushrooms,1 large can of chopped tomatoes,1 bouquet garni,finely grated rind and juice of 1 orange,salt/pepper
Method
(1) heat oil in a frying pan and quickly brown the meat( you may need to do this in batches) transfer to the slo-cooker
(2) add the onions and carrot to the pan and cook for 5-10 mins until just beginning to brown, stirring occasionally
(3)stir in the flour then gradually stir in the stock, add the remaining ingredients and bring just to the boil, pour over the beef in the slo-cooker
(4)cover and cook on low for 7-9 hours
(5)remove the bouquet garni and adjust the seasoning to taste before serving
