2 tbs sunflower oil,2 lb braising steak trimmed and cut into strips,4 medium onions,,1 oz plain flour,2 tsp mild curry powder,2 tsp light muscovado sugar,1 tsp ground ginger,(put all dry ingredients in a bowl and mix together),,,1 pint beef stock,2 tbs Worcestershire sauce,Salt and black pepper,3 tbs chopped parsley (optional),2 tbs creamed horseradish,


Cook beef strips until browned all over.
Remove while you lower the heat and cook onions gently until soft.

Remove these then
Add flour, curry powder, sugar and ginger and cook stirring for one minute.
Pour in the stock and bring to boil stirring until smooth and thickened.
Add Worcestershire sauce, season with salt and pepper.

Return the beef and onions to the casserole and stir in the parsley.

Cook for 2-2 ½ hours on 160 C until meat is tender

Stir in the horseradish cream, taste to check for seasoning and garnish with chopped parsley
