Keep the bottle of liqueur in the freezer and serve straight from there in small tots. Chin-chin!



3-4 large unwaxed organic lemons (on the Amalfi coast the lemons are huge and knobbly),1 bottle vodka (cheap is fine),about 5 oz. sugar


Peel lemons very thinly (the juice is not used)
Pour vodka over the lemon peel in a bigger bottle or jar and add the sugar.Screw down the lid and shake well.
Shake every day until sugar is dissolved.
Leave for a month before straining into a fresh bottle.
