Whisk egg whites until they stand in stiff peaks
Gradually whisk in half the sugar
Fold in remaining sugar with the cornflour, vinegar and vanilla essence
Spoon onto circle and bake in oven for one hour at 150oC
Leave to cool in oven
Remove paper and place on plate
whip cream until stiff
Pile onto pavlova and top with fruit

Ingredients
3 egg whites,6oz caster sugar,1 teaspoon cornflour,1 teaspoon vinegar,1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence,,For the Filling,1/2 pint double cream,Fresh fruit of your choice
Method
Mark an 8 inch circle on a piece of non stick baking parchment and place on baking trayWhisk egg whites until they stand in stiff peaks
Gradually whisk in half the sugar
Fold in remaining sugar with the cornflour, vinegar and vanilla essence
Spoon onto circle and bake in oven for one hour at 150oC
Leave to cool in oven
Remove paper and place on plate
whip cream until stiff
Pile onto pavlova and top with fruit
