Submitted by Jane Staton 11 June 2009

This is a lovely chocolate cake but is equally delicious served hot with pouring cream or custard.

12oz butter,12oz caster sugar,2 free range eggs beaten,2oz cocoa,8oz plain flour,8oz self raising flour,2oz ground almonds,2 packets chocolate chips,almond extract

Grease a swiss roll tin or a tray bake tin.
Sieve the flours and cocoa into a bowl.
Stir in the sugar, ground almonds and the chocolate chips.
Melt the butter. Make a well in the centre and pour in the melted butter. Add the beaten eggs and the almond extract. Mix everything together.
Press the mixture into the prepared tin.
Sprinkle a little caster sugar over the top.
Bake at 180 for 15-30 mins. The cake should be soft in the middle.
