Apple Crumble
Submitted by H_Lynne 31 August 2011
This is an apple crumble that everyone asks for again and again. Lovely with custard, ice-cream or yoghurt.
Ingredients
1 large cooking apple per person
2 cups rolled oats
1 cup plain wholemeal flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
2tsp ground cinnamon
1/2/ tsp ground cloves
2/3 cup butter softened
1/2 tsp salt
Method
Peel and slice apples into a caserole. They can be precooked if you like your apples really soft. I don't put sugar into the apples, but you can if you like yours sweet. In a bowl, mix the dry ingredients together and then rub in the butter with your fingers. Sprinkle over the top of the apples, smooth out and bake at 180degC for about 30mins. Fan forced oven will need to be slightly cooler. Enjoy!
