Plaited Bread

675 grams (1½ pounds) bread flour,1½ teaspoons salt,1½ teaspoons sugar,1 sachet yeast,1½ tablespoons olive oil,¾ pint water,,Glaze:,Poppy seeds,1 beaten egg with a little salt,


Dry mix flour, salt, sugar and yeast, add water and oil mixture and knead in KC on slow for 2 mins, then speed 1 for 10 mins minutes.

Cover with oiled cling film and leave for 1 hour.

Knock back, divide into 3 and form into sausage shapes.
Lay out in figure H and plait to form loaf.

Leave to prove for 10 to 30 minutes depending on temperature.
Glaze with egg and salt mixture, sprinkle with poppy seeds.

Cook for 25 mins in AGA or highest setting in oven.
