Pear and Amaretto Cake

This is a cake I have made for years both for everyday and celebrations.



250g Butter 250g Golden Caster Sugar 125g Plain flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 100gr Ground almonds 3,size 3 eggs,beaten.100gr Dried Pears,finely chopped 1 Fresh pear,peeled and sliced. 100gr Polenta 3 tablespoons Amaretto


Preheat oven to 325of/170oc/Gas mark3. Grease and line a 8" Spring form tin. Beat butter and sugar until pale and fluffy.Add the eggs,stir in the flour, bp and Ground almonds,then the dried and fresh pears,polenta and amaretto. Spoon into prepared tin and bake for about 55 mins until risen and golden all over.Cool. Serves 12
