Mix dry ingredients and add the egg and boiled mixture, mix well.
Put mixture in a greased 7 inch tin (a loaf tin is ideal) and bake for 1.1/4 to 1.1/2 hours on 160170 C.

Serve with a cup of tea !
Ingredients
4 oz marg,8 oz mixed fruit,1 strained cup of tea (not a mug),8 oz SR Flour,4 oz sugar,1 tsp bi-carb,1 tsp mixed spice,1 egg - beaten,
Method
Melt marge in saucepan, add tea and fruit, bring to the boil and simmer for 2 minutes. Leave to cool for 5 minutes.Mix dry ingredients and add the egg and boiled mixture, mix well.
Put mixture in a greased 7 inch tin (a loaf tin is ideal) and bake for 1.1/4 to 1.1/2 hours on 160170 C.
