Christmas Pastry for mincepies with crumble topping
Submitted by janjam 01 December 2011
A MUST for Christmas!
Ingredients
1lb SR Flour
4oz butter,
4oz block margarine
2oz Caster sugar
1 egg, beaten with splash of milk
Crumble Topping
2oz butter, 2oz Plain Flour, 2oz Muscovado sugar, 2oz ground almonds
Method
Sift flour and place in Food Processor, along with the butter, marg and sugar, process until breadcrumb-like. Add the egg and milk and process, add further milk until you have a "velvet" texture dough. Wrap in cling film and refrigerate for 1hr to rest. While the pastry is resting make the crumble topping. Place all crumble ingredients in the food processor and gently pulse until you have a "Crumble"! Use as topping on mincepies instead of another layer of pastry.
