Bunsen Pili Pala (Welsh for Butterfly cakes!)
My two boys have always called them this, they are Butterfly cakes and they like these done in muffin tins which makes giant butterfly cakes!
Ingredients
6oz marg,
6oz caster sugar,
3 eggs beaten,
7-8oz SR Flour,
1tsp baking powder,
few drops vanilla extract,
ICING
2oz butter,
8oz icing sugar,
juice of 1 lemon,
Method
Heat oven to 160C. Place muffin cases in tin. Place all cake ingredient into bowl and beat thoroughly for 2-3mins. Place spoonfuls into cases makes about 14-15 cakes. Bake for 12-15 ins or until springy to the touch.
Leave to cool. Make icing by placing icing ingredients in FP and blend until smooth. Make butterfly wings but cutting the tops off the cakes and placing icing into hole and placing the wings on top. Dredge with icing sugar.
