Add the sugar and raisins/dates.
Mix together the melted marg, milk, treacle & egg then add to the other ingredients.
Pour into muffin cases or greased muffin tins.
I bake at 160 (fan oven) for 20 mins.

Bran Muffins

Minimum mixing & so easy. This recipe appears in my Canadian Cookbook and has been a family favourite for many years.
Ingredients
4 oz plain flour,2 tspns baking powder,2-3 oz bran,2 oz brown sugar ,3 oz raisins (or chopped dates),2 oz melted margarine or butter,7 fl oz milk,4 tblspns black treacle,1 lightly beaten egg
Method
Mix together the flour, baking powder and bran.Add the sugar and raisins/dates.

Pour into muffin cases or greased muffin tins.
