This makes a great 'muesli' type bar with loads of flavour and texture, and you get to control the sugar level - reduce this if you wish. Cheaper and better than commercial bars. The nuts, sunflower and sesame seeds are bursting with good nutririon: plus, kids love 'em!
MethodHeat the nuts and seeds in a pan until golden, then mix in the sultanas. Heat the butter, honey and sugar and gently boil to the 'softball' stage. Mix all together and press into a flat buttered tray, to a depth of about 2cms, and set in the fridge. Cut into convenient sized bars. Wrap in foil/gladwrap for school or work lunches.
