Easy Sweet and Sour Sauce
Submitted by janjam 11 June 2009
I use this to "beef" up a shop bought (horror!!) sauce mix.
Ingredients
3 tbsp soy sauce,
3 tbsp White wine vinegar,
3 tbsp Sherry,
1 tbsp light brown sugar,
100ml cold water,
2/3 chicken breast, sliced and sprinkled over with 1 teaspoon of cornflour
Method
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl except the chicken!. Fry the chicken in a little oil add 1 sliced onion then when the chicken is cooked add the shop bought jar with the other sauce ingredients. Stir well and cook for 15-20mins. Serve with rice.
