2. Par boil the potatoes until they are soft on the outside and still firm on the inside, allow to completely cool
3. Cut the potatoes in medium sized circles
4. Put the margarine in a pan and melt, then add the flour mix until it form a mixture, take of heat and very slowly add milk DO NOT ADD ALL AT ONCE! Continuously whisk, and then add 50g of cheese
5. Finely chop onions and garlic and sauté until golden brown in oil
6. In a oven proof dish lay one layer of potatoes then a layer of cheese sauce then sprinkle a little of the sautéed onions and garlic, repeat process until your dish is full then sprinkle the remainder of cheese onto the top
7. Put in the oven gas mark 6 for 30mins or until the top is golden brown

Ingredients
4 large potatoes,1 medium onion,1 clove of garlic,50g flour,50g margarine,about 200ml milk (may need a little more or less),150g grated cheese
Method
1. Peel the potatoes and leave whole2. Par boil the potatoes until they are soft on the outside and still firm on the inside, allow to completely cool
