Boston Baked Beans

Serve with toast .



1lb Dried Haricot Beans,2 tablespoons Molasses,1tsp dried mustard,2 tablespoons Veg Bouillon powder,4 tablespoons Tomato puree,2 tablespoons very dark brown sugar,2 bay leaves,pinch thyme,pinch sage


Wash and soak beans for 6-8 hrs drain and replace water bring to boil and boil hard for 10 mins then simmer for 1 1/2 hrs .Drain beans retaining cooking water . Put beans with all other ingrendients in a deep ovenproof dish add 1pt of bean cooking water. Cover and cook for 4-6 hrs in cool oven . I cook it for 6-8 hrs in a slow cooker.
They freeze well and are yummy
