In one of her fish recipes Delia said to wrap the fish in baking foil. However, I have seen reports online that to cook anything using aluminium foil can lead to long term health risks, as heat can cause aluminium to leach into the food being cooked.
I don't know if this concern is a recent one, or if it has been raised previously. As someone who is trying to learn to cook late in life (I'm 62) such stories make me apprehensive about using foil to cook anything. It would be helpful to know what your team's ideas are on this subject.
Could you please help me with a problem I have with baking Delia’s xmas cake after baking for the time said in recipe and a skewer inserted comes out clean the bottom is sticky and almost wet it does not dry even with leaving it on a cooling rack to go cold when cut at xmas it is more like pudding then cake it does not cut well at all. Can you tell me what I am Doing wrong? I keep trying but result is always the same. xmas is coming again and I really want this cake to work. I have all Delia books use all her recipes at xmas thank you for reading this I hope to hear from you xxx
