I'd like to make some of Delia's ice cream but worry about raw eggs. I also used to make a delicious cake which needed raw yoke in the filling. Do you think it is ok ?

Fresh lime and coconut cake
I followed the recipe for this cake exactly as written. However, my cakes came out even flatter than pancakes! I have gone over the recipe time and again, trying to find out where I went wrong but I did not deviate at all. I can only think that the ingredients weights are incorrect. I am a huge fan of Delia's recipes and have never had a disaster before.
I shall be very grateful if you can advise or explain.
I have baked Delia's lime and coconut cake (Summer collection)
twice and am very disappointed with the result. The cake did not rise at all. I have followed the recipe . The cake tastes good but it is very dense.
I'm wondering about dusting bread with flour.
I can understand the need to do this to stop the bread sticking. That said, Delia dusts the top of her white bread with flour even though it can't stick to anything.
I know a floured loaf looks authentic and home-baked but I sometimes don't like the flour taste.
What am I missing? Does the flour add flavour?
