Does Delia's Christmas cake work gluten free?
Hi there,
I’ve made Delia’s Christmas fruit cake for many years now. We have visitors this Christmas one of whom is gluten intolerant . Can I make my usual cake but substitute the flour for plain gluten free ? I’ve never used gluten free flour before but read it can be more dry a result. I’m thinking with all the lovely fruit and the many feeds of brandy it gets before icing that it should be ok but I’d appreciate your opinion. Many thanks .. Gail
Does pear cake need to go in the fridge?
Hi Lindsey
Is it necessary to refrigerate the pear and almond cake with streusel topping if not eating the same day?
Many thanks!

Fruit Scones didn't rise!
Hi Lindsey, I have made Delia’s fruit scones many times with great success. I’ve just made some and they haven’t risen! What is the reason please.
Regards
Margaret.
The calorie information!
Hi Lynsey. I love and bake LOTS of Delia's fantastic recipes. I'm using an app to chart my calorie intake. Do you have a listing of calories per portion for your recipes?
Or could this information be included in future listings?
Thanks to you all for the fantastic recipes, Brian.
The flour in Christmas Pudding!
Hi Lindsey
Hope you're all doing well in Delia Towers and looking forward to an autumn of pickling steeping and stewing
Just wanted to ask a Christmas Pudding question
Originally, the pudding was 'assembled' with all ingredients including the flour before being left overnight and then steamed the next day
Later tho, Delia suggests adding the flour just before steaming.
Am just interested to understand why the slight change? :)
Happy Autumn
