Questions
Freezing Pistachio Sables
Can you freeze the Pistacho Sables and any instructions for when you want to eat them. Trying to get ahead for Christmas
Added the flour to the christmas pudding the day before
Hello! I added flour before soaking Christmas Pudding overnight. Do I need to start again?
Soaking fruits and feeding the cake
I use brandy to soak the dried fruit for the Christmas cake and then feed it with brandy. If I make a Dundee cake using whiskey do I then feed it with whiskey and if I use sherry to soak the dried fruit fora cake do I feed it with sherry? I am concerned that the sherry would make the cake too sweet?
Fat running out of cake during baking
Like another query, I baked Delia’s Classic Christmas Cake yesterday and experienced fat leakage. I used muscovada sugar and probably shouldn’t have done that! Could this have been the reason? I used unsalted butter for fat and have baked this recipe (not every year) since the Evening Standard Cookbook in the 1970s so there must be a reason. Would love your opinion.
The cream in Chocolate Bread and Butter Pudding
Hi! Can I use double cream instead of whipping creak for the choc bread and butter pudding? Thanks in advance!
Leaving a pudding longer before steaming
Hi Lindsey,
I made my Christmas pudding mix yesterday and as the recipe suggests left it covered overnight in the dining room. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to cook it today, is it too late to put it in the fridge and cook it tomorrow, or should I throw it away and start again.
Thank you
June
