Freezing creme brulee
Hi Lindsay,
Re. freezing creme brulee.
Delia says that her creme brulees can be frozen, but it's unclear whether it should be frozen with or without the caramel topping. Most of the internet advice says 'without' but I'd prefer you advice on this please.
Also, both the vanilla and chocolate creme brulees contain vanilla but, for the two-tone vanilla/chocolate version, the directions say to put the vanilla in the vanilla portion only. Is this correct, or should I divide it between the two flavours?
Thank you.
Can I freeze nut roast or non-meat loaf?
Thank you so much for your advice on G/F ingredients for the standard Delia Christmas recipes. Cake, mincemeat and pudding all made successfully..... not yet tasted.
Next question - can I freeze the Non - Meat loaf and the Curried nut roast dishes described in Part 2 of Delia's Cookery course?
Making Dauphinois for 16 and getting ahead
I am making Dauphinois for 16 people. Can I make this the night before?
A chocolate dessert for the children
Puddings all done Lindsey, but I now have a query regarding 6 children who do not like christmas pudding!!
I'm looking at Delia's melting chocolate puddings, but it's got brandy and I've never been lucky with "fondant" style puddings. Could I tweak so they are closer in life to the sticky6 toffee pudding recipe, but chocolate?
If you can find a solution to that one you deserve a medal!
Regards.
Eileen
Freezing Shephereds Pie
Hello Lindsey,
I am cooking Delia's Shepherd's pie with cheese crusted leeks and then freezing - is that ok or should I omit the leeks and mash, then thaw and add the topping after?
Thank you, Anne H.
Braised Steak in a Slow Cooker
Thank you so much for your reply to my question about a retro dinner party. The steak was not the one I was thinking of, but the recipe I was looking for was on the same page, Steak au poivre, using braising steak.
Could this recipe be adapted for a slow cooker, please?
Happy Christmas to you both, May
