How do I make my scones like the ones you get in garden centres or fancy bakers shops please? Sometimes they look quite yellow inside and seem quite crumbly.

Heavy hot cross buns!
Hot Cross Buns - These had a lovely flavour but were far too heavy. I followed the recipe exactly , left to prove and double in size -as far as I can tell - but they were stodgy . What did I wrong please?
I will try again as even mine had the potential to be really lovely hot cross buns.
Reheating Canary Lemon Sponge Puddings

Please can the Canary lemon sponge puddings be made in advance and warmed up or prepped and left to sit and then steamed after main course has been served?

Marmalade is too thick anf the peel is tough.
Dear Lindsey,
I just sent in a question re my four jars of thick marmalade with tough shards of peel. I forgot to mention that there are too many shards-two to three times maybe and also too long. I sliced virtually all the peels instead of just a few. I am a complete beginner.

Is brandy essential in homemade marzipan and can it be replaced by anything non-alcoholic?
